Theta Neurofeedback is a neuroscience application that improves memory by teaching users to control their electric brain activity.
// Theta waves are electric brain oscillations in the 3-7Hz range that the brain produces during meditation, relaxation, and memory processes.
// Neurofeedback (NFB) software allows people to control their brain activity and theta waves. Using open-source BCI software "Openvibe", I developed "Open-NFB", a NFB application that automatically adapts its difficulty to the user's success at neuro-modulation.
// We used Electroencephalography (EEG) to show that theta neurofeedback improves different types of memory: motor, episodic, and spatial. This finding could have far-reaching consequences, such as improving learning outcomes by up to 20%, to helping reduce patients’ recovery time with from physiotherapy by accelerating their motor learning.
